What this notice covers

This notice explains how we handle personal information collected through thesamcogroup.org.uk. It does not cover information we hold under a separate agreement with a client, which is dealt with in that agreement.

Information we collect

Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your name, your email address and whatever else you choose to include. Please don’t include personal information about tenants, service users or other third parties in an initial enquiry.

Technical information. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs of visits to the site, including IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. These logs exist to keep the site running and secure.

What we don’t do

This site carries no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. We don’t build profiles of visitors, we don’t sell or rent personal information, and we don’t share it with anyone for marketing purposes.

Cookies

The site uses only cookies that are necessary for it to work. These include cookies set by WordPress if you sign in as an administrator, and cookies used by our consent tool to remember your preferences. A consent banner may appear on your first visit.

Other organisations involved

• Our hosting provider — stores the website and its server logs on our behalf.
• Google Fonts — some typefaces used by the site are requested from Google’s servers, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.

We don’t pass your information to anyone else unless the law requires it.

Why we are allowed to use your information

When you contact us, we rely on our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and running our business. If we go on to work together, we rely on the contract between us.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry, and afterwards as part of our ordinary business records. We review what we hold from time to time and delete what we no longer need.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or transfer it to another organisation. Email info@thesamcogroup.org.uk and we’ll respond.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
